We are seeking to employ a postdoctoral research associate within the School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science on a full-time basis.
The post is fixed term for a period of 12 months commencing 1st November 2017.
Experience in (i) cellular foam materials as catalyst supports, (ii) silicon carbide (SiC) foams and their properties, (iii) the development of hierarchical framework catalysts, especially zeolites, on SiC foams, (iv) the characterisation of framework catalysts and structured foams, and (v) heterogeneous catalysis using structured SiC foam catalysts is essential. Familiarity with general catalyst characterisation methods, especially for hierarchically structured porous/cellular catalysts, is required. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver research of an international standard that will contribute to the development of novel bio-oil upgrading process with zeolitic catalysts on SiC foams under microwave activation.
