We are seeking a critical theorist/historian with a specialism in Photographic practice. An excellent communicator you will teach across all levels on our internationally renowned BA (Hons) Photography course.
You will ideally have previous teaching experience, preferably in an Arts environment and a developing research practice. You will be a strong team player sharing our passion for all aspects of photographic practice with a commitment to a student-centred approach to learning.
The BA (Hons) Photography is a specialist course, delivered in the context of a unique specialist Art, Design, Architecture, Media and Performance institution. The BA (Hons) Photography course engages with contemporary practice in an experimental manner and embraces all technologies from analogue to digital, still and moving image. Holding a PhD, our ideal candidate will have the ability to convey an in depth knowledge of photographic history contextualised within clear critical theoretical framework/s. An active researcher you will understand the benefits of practice informed teaching and learning.
A good organisor, you will take responsibility for managing the effective learning of all students, including setting, supervising and assessing written work. You will also contribute to the development of the course curriculum and undertake a range of tutorial and pastoral responsibilities.
