The Alzheimer's Research UK Cambridge Drug Discovery Institute (DDI) is seeking talented chemists to join its growing chemistry team.

The Cambridge DDI is part of a network of world-class Drug Discovery Institutes funded by Alzheimer's Research UK and will prosecute drug discovery projects from target to in vivo proof of concept and beyond for novel targets in the neurodegeneration therapeutic area. This is an exciting opportunity to join this growing institute which is based on the prestigious Cambridge Biomedical Campus. 

The successful applicant(s) will have a BSc (Hons) or equivalent, in Chemistry or a related discipline. They will have a flair for synthetic organic chemistry and problem solving, excellent communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team. Further experience of working in chemistry research groups would be advantageous, for example during a summer internship or industrial placement year as part of a degree course.

The successful candidate(s) will work in our synthetic chemistry laboratory making molecules which will be screened as potential treatments for the diseases that cause dementia. The DDI is a stimulating and collaborative environment and this role offers further training and development in the areas of synthetic and medicinal chemistry and drug discovery.
