This multi-disciplinary research area includes research that addresses major challenges in the key areas of Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS). This is emerging as an enabling technology to address many societal and economic challenges, relating to manipulations. It has shown great progress in extreme environments such as space and nuclear.  We seek to address the challenge in increasing the deployment of robotics and autonomous systems, concentrating on applications in advanced manufacturing/production, space, healthcare and hazardous environments/operations needs to be considered. This is a multi-disciplinary field which includes areas such as mechatronics, vision and image computing, artificial intelligence, real-time processing and advanced imaging and sensing.
