Job PurposeWith a view to building on the success of Glasgow’s Social Policy REF return in 2014, together with recent growth in student recruitment within the subject area, the School of Social & Political Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer whose work focuses on socio-economic/class inequality, poverty and/or social mobility.

We would especially welcome applicants whose research explores the intersection between class and other dimensions of inequality (e.g. those related to racism and ethnicity; health; migration; disability; gender; sexualities).

The appointee will undertake high-quality research and knowledge exchange activities in relation to social inequalities; make a substantial contribution to learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and undertake administrative and management duties as required by the Head of School and/or Head of Subject.

Salary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level 7/8, £33,943 - £38,183 / £41,709 - £48,327 per annum.

New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.
