The Division of Psychology sits within the Department of Life Sciences. It is a large and expanding Division, which currently includes students and staff located across two buildings, delivering undergraduate programmes in Psychology and Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences in Psychology, as well as a post graduate programme in Psychology.
We are now seeking an exceptional educational academic to contribute and lead aspects of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Brunel. With around 500 undergraduates and 60 postgraduates, the Division of Psychology, delivers an UG course with work placement in Psychology and starting in 2017 Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences in Psychology, and a suite of MSc Programmes.
The successful applicant will be an experienced lecturer/senior lecturer with experience in teaching British Psychological Society accredited programmes and/or related subjects suitable for certification in psychology. Whilst not essential, fellowship of the Higher Education Academy would be advantageous.
The appointment will be at lecturer or senior lecturer level within the academic (education) career group dependant on the experience of the successful applicant. The academic (education) career posts at Brunel are part of a group spanning associate lecturer through to professor with defined promotion criteria.
Under Brunel’s Academic Life Cycle policy, the appointment to Lecturer will be subject by a 2 year probationary period (with associated reduction in teaching duties) followed to a 2 year development period. Subject to meeting probationary and development targets, the post holder will be promoted to Senior Lecturer after 4 years.
