The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is one of the largest faculties within the University offering a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate and vocationally orientated professional programmes for home and overseas students. Courses within the School of Healthcare Practice are concerned both with pre- professional registration and post qualifying education. We offer pre-professional courses in Nursing, Midwifery, Operating Department Practice and Paramedic Sciences and foundation degrees for assistant practitioners. We also provide courses for post-qualified healthcare practitioners, and also courses in public health, medical education, dental education and simulation, plus courses for overseas students.

The successful post-holder will take responsibility for teaching to the adult nursing course plus short courses for qualified healthcare professionals, working collaboratively with local NHS Trusts who support students with practice learning. The role involves working with colleagues across the University to deliver exciting and innovative courses within a friendly and supportive environment.

We are particularly looking for someone with acute care skills particularly those who have a background in coronary care, intensive care, surgery or emergency departments, although we will consider other acute specialities.

The University actively encourages the development of its staff through postgraduate and doctoral studies. All staff are required to be research active and support is provided by the Institute of Health Research.

Due to the Home Office and UK Visas & Immigration requirements on immigration and Right to Work in the UK, the University of Bedfordshire can only accept job applications from Non EEA applicants who hold a current Tier 1 or Tier 2 (in country) visa and their status allows them to work and reside in the UK with no restrictions.

The University is committed to equality of opportunity and values the diversity of all its workforce and student population.
