Technician: Architecture 0.6fte (22.2 hours per week)
To maintain our commitment to a high-quality student experience at Norwich University of the Arts, we are seeking to recruit a Technician to join the Media Technical Team. The specialist resources to support architecture and CAD are located in a restored, RIBA award-winning, Grade II listed building. The resources include an architectural model making room, networked computer workshops, large format scanning, laser cutting, large format inkjet printing and laser printing.
The successful candidate will be a skilled Technician with proven professional experience in their specialist creative discipline from working in either a Higher Education or a commercial environment. The successful appointee, alongside expert-level practical skills, including model making, will demonstrate expertise in working with a wide range of professional hardware and software for CAD, 3D digital, laser cutting and large format inkjet printing. The post holder will demonstrate high levels of skill for fabrication, capturing, processing, content management and output to the relevant professional quality.
A proven professional understanding of studying architecture at undergraduate level together with experience of planning, preparing and delivering technical inductions to students are key requirements of the role. The post holder will join a team operating in busy workshop environments, sharing responsibility for the associated Health and Safety regulations, manual handling procedures and COSHH regulations.
