About the role:

The International Relations Unit (IRU) promotes international collaborations coordination and partnership in key strategic areas of BBSRC’s portfolio across universities and research institutes throughout the UK. As an International Relations Programme Manager you will work across the IRU to enjoy a diverse role. You will contribute to the delivery of international schemes and activities in biosciences and will act as a point of contact for IRU across the office. You will work with colleagues in IRU and other teams to task manage and coordinate the development of success stories from IRU’s work, contributing to building impact reports.

You will develop a thorough understanding of biological sciences and appreciation of UK research and knowledge of the UK research funding system. You will flexibly manage and prioritise a broad range of activities. You will analyse and present complex information, work to deadlines and build excellent working relationships inside and outside the organisation.

About you:

You will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge/previous relevant experience and an understanding of UK research and innovation landscape.

Good organisational skills with a capacity to work flexibly and to progress a varied workload against tight deadlines are essential. An effective team worker with good interpersonal and collaborative skills, you must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and have good presentation skills. You will have the ability to analyse and present complex information to produce reports.

An ability to contribute to the development of evidence of performance and impact is desirable. Experience in research administration or in managing research projects and an understanding of the purpose of international collaborations are also desirable.
