We are looking for a Research Portfolio Manager to support the Research & Development (R&D) Department.

The successful candidate will be expected conduct sponsorship reviews of new studies and be responsible for operations management of their own portfolio of research including supporting research teams, internal departments and liaising with clinical trial sponsors to ensure the smooth set-up of clinical trials. The post-holder will pay a key part in the quality assurance of research at our Trust by conducting routine ICH- Good Clinical Practice system and study audit in line with a risk adapted audit plan. 

The successful candidate is required to be able demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. In particular you should have a post-graduate degree or equivalent experience in the NHS, University or pharmaceutical industry. You will specialist knowledge of research regulatory issues governing the conduct of clinical research and sponsorship of studies including the Research Governance Framework for Health and Community Care, Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations including all amendments, Mental Capacity Act, Adults with Incapacity Act (Scotland, Data Protection Act, Governance Arrangements for Research Ethics Committees and Human Tissue Act), Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP), HRA approval process. You will have line management experience, experience of contribution to large scale projects, that impact across departments, have a flexible approach to working with others, have the ability to motivate, negotiate and influence the decision making across the organisation.
