Detail information about job Executive Programmes Co-ordinator. Terms and conditions vacancy

The Institute of Public Affairs (IPA) is LSE’s global centre for public policy training and analysis. We offer two executive format graduate degree programmes, the open-enrolment Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) and the Executive Master of Public Policy (EMPP), a closed-entry degree for future leaders of the UK civil service. From September 2018, the IPA will be developing and growing into LSE’s new School of Public Policy.

Both the EMPA and EMPP degrees run over 19 months and are taught in intensive week-long and weekend blocks allow working professionals to combine challenging careers and world-class education. The EMPA attracts experienced, dynamic and talented working professionals from around the globe and trains them in the skills required for further success in government departments, public agencies and private organisations working on the design, development, analysis and implementation of public policy. The EMPP equips senior and high-potential civil servants with the analytical tools required to deliver effective policy given the increasing complexity of governing and interdependence of policy challenges and their potential solutions.

The post of Executive MPA Programme Co-ordinator plays a pivotal role in the smooth and efficient running of these degrees, being the first point of contact for queries from students and liaising with LSE’s academic faculty regarding course administration, learning resources and grading.

Candidates for this post should have some administrative experience and will need excellent professional communication skills, both written and spoken. Experience of working in an academic environment could be helpful, but more important will be outstanding skills in planning ahead across different activities, high levels of accuracy together with the initiative and ability to manage multiple priorities without constant direct supervision. Discretion, confidentiality and high levels of service are essential.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities.

For further information about the post, please see the how to apply document, job description and the person specification.

If you have any queries about applying on the online system, or require an alternative format for the application, please call: 020 7106 1313.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 17 September 2017 (23.59 UK time). Regrettably, we are unable to accept any late applications.
