Detail information about job Senior Researcher (Impact and Evaluation). Terms and conditions vacancy

An opportunity has arisen for Senior Researcher (Impact and Evaluation) within the Policy, Research & International Development Directorate.

This is a new research post to lead and support impact and evaluation research across Public Health Wales. A critical part of public practice is demonstrating a positive impact of public health products, services and advocacy on the health and well-being of the population. The skill set required for this post includes well developed research and development skills, a good understanding of health and economic aspects of evaluation (including return on investment) and an ability to develop such skills in others.

As the lead for impact evaluation, you will develop measurement tools, protocols, training and advocacy materials. You will support others undertaking impact evaluation with expert advice in order to shape, implement and integrate impact evaluation work across Public Health Wales. For a number of key programmes, you and your team will directly deliver the impact evaluations. While much of the work will be undertaken as part of the routine practice of Public Health Wales, you will also explore research and evaluation opportunities with external partners and seek external funding to support this work.

The post holder will join a growing research and impact evaluation capacity team in Public Health Wales and will help shape the development of impact evaluation, providing leadership and innovative solutions together with the Head of Research and Development. You will be based in the Policy, Research and International Development Directorate in our new head quarter offices in Cardiff and will work closely with the Directorate of Quality, Nursing and Allied Health Professions as well as staff in other directorates in Cardiff and throughout Wales.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
