Salary in the range of £34,956 – £40,523 per annum

The School of Education and Psychology are looking to recruit a number of Lecturers in Education and Teacher Training due to the promotion of the current post holders and development of the Education portfolio. We are also seeking to appoint to our part-time hourly paid pool.

The key duties of the role-holder will be to contribute to the delivery, development and administrative support of the Education and Teacher Training courses, which will include the academic and personal support of students.

A first degree and teaching qualification (with a preferred specialism in one of the main curriculum areas of Art and Design/Media/English/Business Studies/Science related subject, Education or related subject), a teaching training qualification and a master degree in any related area is essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with a science or maths background. A commitment to undertaking a PhD, as well as a teaching qualification and membership of the Higher Education Academy (or willingness to achieve an accredited HEA standard teaching qualification), is a requirement of the post.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a practical awareness of current developments in Teacher Training including developments in CPD and Professional development as well as being able to facilitate the creation and maintenance of a range of links between courses and post compulsory/lifelong learning industry employers. Relevant teaching and course delivery experience is essential, as well as being able to undertake appropriate subject specific research and/or advanced creative practice and/or enterprise activity in the field.
