The Department of Engineering, Design and Mathematics within the Faculty of Environment and Technology are seeking to appoint a Senior Technician – Electronic Engineering.
The new Health Technology Hub will provide a world-class resource supporting technology development. The Hub will focus on research and development activities relating to product development and testing of health technologies associated with home diagnostics, monitoring and biosensing systems. This role is part of a European (ERDF) funded project led by the University and this position is supported by the 2014-2020 European Regional Development Fund.
The new 900m2 facility will house a new suite of laboratories and associated offices including instrumentation, prototyping and biosensing laboratories. The facility will be used by businesses and researchers, working on a spectrum of projects to develop new products relating to health technology. A key element of the success of the Hub will be the technical support for the Hub which will be led by two senior technicians – one with an electronic engineering and a second with a biosciences background.
It is essential that you have a Degree in electronic engineering or equivalent experience and can demonstrate broad based experience as an electronics technician with a proven technical ability in electronic circuit design and prototyping.
