We are seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join the Centre for Endocrinology at the William Harvey Research Institute, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. Together with the Department of Endocrinology at Barts Health NHS Trust, we constitute a world leading centre for endocrine research, teaching and clinical care.

To support and strengthen our outstanding research in endocrinology and associated disciplines, including genetics, molecular and cellular biology, as well as more translational areas such as therapeutic innovation, we wish to recruit a new Lecturer/Senior Lecturer. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent research programme that will contribute to our scientific excellence. Applicants must have an appropriate research track record, with first-rate publications.

The post-holder will contribute to the delivery of high quality teaching on the Nanchang Joint Programme in Biomedical Sciences, delivered by Queen Mary University of London’s School of Biological and Chemical Sciences and Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry (http://www.sbcs.qmul.ac.uk/nanchang/index.html). This will require up to five visits per annum to Nanchang University in China (two of these will be for up to two weeks in duration) to deliver endocrinology teaching (in English) for the pre-clinical component of this joint programme.

The post is full time with an indefinite term. Starting salary will be in the range £40,182 - £59,104 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required, this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
