About the jobThe University of South Australia Business School is the largest in South Australia and one of the premier business schools in the country. The School of Law forms part of the UniSA Business School and provides leading-edge legal education to suit the diverse needs of today’s law students. The School operates a highly flexible trimester program and offers a comprehensive range of double degree options, as well as research degrees. 

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding scholar in the area of Criminal Law who can make exceptional contributions to all activities in the School of Law, and will play a strategic leadership role in scholarship through teaching, research and professional activities. With a strong academic track record in both teaching and research, the ideal candidate will be able to cement criminal law, procedure and evidence as significant legal sub-disciplines within the School. 

Skills and ExperienceYou will have a completed doctorate in Law or cognate discipline, and capacity to provide academic leadership in both research and teaching programs through mentoring, supervision and leading teams in the context of a high-trust, high-performance academic culture. You will also have demonstrated experience leading research as evidenced by international publication and funding record which is as a result of developing and publishing high quality, high impact journal papers; writing research grants and generating research income.
