External Relations is a dynamic and creative Directorate which is responsible for the University’s internal and external engagement and communications, encompassing Marketing Services, Media and Communications, Development and Alumni and Student Recruitment and Admissions.

The Marketing team, responsible for the planning and delivery of strategic level integrated marketing and communication campaigns, require an experienced, creative and proactive Marketing Officer to join them.  

As a confident marketer, you will plan, co-ordinate and steer team members within the wider External Directorate and University to execute innovative, successful campaigns assigned to you from within our portfolio, which broadly speaking, with the exception of student recruitment, will focus on brand development and profile, research and student experience.

As a key member of our team, you will thrive under the pressure of a fast-paced environment whilst contributing to a customer focused, cost effective and efficient external relations service.

Responsibilities are both operational and tactical and will include:

  • Planning, co-ordinating and reporting on, the delivery and execution of multiple integrated marketing and communication campaigns, to deadlines and within budget
  • Relationship management with internal and external stakeholders, partners and suppliers
  • Design and print: commissioning, administration
  • Copy writing, editing and proof reading
  • Digital and social media communications
  • Event marketing co-ordination
  • Reporting, monitoring and evaluation

Essential skills, knowledge & experience the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate include:-

  • Delivery of multiple integrated marketing campaigns on time and to budget
  • Good knowledge of digital and social media marketing
  • A demonstrable understanding of current marketing methods, tools and tactics
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Solutions oriented
  • Ability to negotiate with diplomacy
  • Driven by creativity and adding value
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience of working to strict deadlines
