Purchase Ledger
- To receive and verify invoices and purchase orders for goods and services and the associated correspondences
- To verify that transactions comply with the financial policies and procedures of the College
- To prepare batches of invoices for data entry and payment via BACS or other method as appropriate, ensuring that all purchase transactions are correctly coded for VAT purposes
- To maintain updated vendor files and file numbers and maintain a listing of accounts payable and answer queries related to the suppliers
- To run BACS payments for payroll transactions, reviewing and reconciling transactions to cost centres and expense codes as required
- To perform month end duties ensuring all journals and procedures are completed on a timely basis in accordance with the monthly management accounts timetable
General Duties within the Finance Department
- Work with the Finance Officers as a team to ensure smooth running of the Finance department transactions, providing cover as appropriate
- Liase with other College departments, particularly MIS and Admissions, to ensure timely and accurate data is held within the Finance department

- Actively promote and market the College and present a positive image of the College and its activities both within and outside the College environment.
- Ensure the quality standards and performance measures applying to the work of the section are met and facilitate continuous improvements in all aspects of the post.
- Undergo any self-development and training as necessary for success in the role.
- Carry out any duties at all times in accordance with the College’s policies including Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety Policies.
- Incorporate into the role the philosophy, values and behaviour stated in the College Mission and Strategic Plan.
- Promote within the College a positive approach to security and discipline.
- Undertake any other responsibilities commensurate with the grade of the post, which the Principal or their senior management representative may from time to time require.
