Applications are invited from suitably qualified academic and/or clinical staff (note this is not a clinical post). The post presents a unique opportunity to lead, develop and deliver programmes in clinically-applied human anatomy, embryology, ultrasound and medical imaging at undergraduate and postgraduate (e.g. surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, physiotherapists) levels within a modern forward thinking medical school.
The post-holder will be expected to contribute to other teaching within the MBChB programme including, but not limited to, facilitation of case-based learning, tutoring small group teaching sessions and also to contribute to assessment creation, strategy and delivery.
Clinical human anatomy teaching at Warwick Medical School takes place within the West Midlands Surgical Training Centre, a joint venture between the University of Warwick and University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. Students and course delegates are taught using a unique combination of plastinated human prosecutions from the Guben plastinarium (Germany), fresh tissue and medical imaging. The placement of clinical anatomy teaching within the hospital provides excellent opportunity for continued professional development and establishing collaborative research and teaching projects with clinical staff and medical imaging. Current projects include the development of postgraduate courses, evidence-based surface anatomy, child anatomy and micro-CT. The medical school has numerous cross-campus and international collaborations.
