The Cicely Saunders Institute of Palliative Care is a world-leading research institute, situated on the Denmark Hill campus of King’s College London in south east London (Zone 2). We wish to appoint an Executive Assistant/Department Manager to provide high-level secretarial and administrative support to the Director of the Institute.
The Director’s office deals with a wide range of activities and external organisations relating to the activities of the Director (Clinical Professor) and the Institute. The role-holder will need to understand the priorities of the Director and the senior leadership team in order to provide effective, joined up support. The role holder will be responsible for the efficient running of day to day business, including management and tracking of incoming emails and logging responses, email and letter correspondence, maintaining robust administrative systems, diary and travel arrangements and liaising with NHS partners on clinical commitments.
In providing administrative support for the Institute Director, the post-holder will assist the Business manager in co-ordination of the Institute’s administrative team, and in answering HR related enquires within the Department. The successful candidate will be reliable, flexible, and able to deal with competing priorities and complex task management.
