Detail information about job Subject Leader Creative Arts Education. Terms and conditions vacancy

UCA is the No.1 Specialist University for the Creative Industries in the Complete University Guide and Guardian University Guide league tables.  Ranked 21st in the UK by the Guardian, UCA is also top 10 in three of its subject listings: Fashion & Textiles (6th), Film Production & Photography (7th) and Architecture (9th).  For more than 150 years the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester has been leading the way for art and design education.

We are looking for a highly motivated and inspirational individual to lead the Creative Arts Education course provision. You will be an experienced academic developer with creativity, skill, enthusiasm and experience to contribute to the delivery of this exciting programme.

A key element of this role is the Programme Leadership of the PGCert/MA Creative Arts Education which are popular and established routes to further academic qualification.  An important task for the role holder in 2017/18 will be to prepare the courses for re-validation and to work with the Head of Learning, Teaching & Student Engagement on the Higher Education Academy reaccreditation of the CPD offer.

You will have a significant understanding of creative arts teaching and learning in HE, evidence of excellence and innovation in teaching, the capacity to work alongside colleagues in their development, and a thorough knowledge of the UK Professional Standards Framework. Importantly, the successful applicant will understand the relationship between quality assurance and excellent teaching and learning and have a sound grasp of the enhancement agenda.

For an informal discussion about the post, please email Annamarie McKie, Head of Learning, Teaching & Student Engagement [email protected]
