Detail information about job Teaching Fellow in Speech Sciences. Terms and conditions vacancy

The postholder will be required to provide tutorial and laboratory support for modules in Phonetics and Phonology, in Sociolinguistics (with focus on phonetic and phonological variation and change), in Speech Acoustics, Speech Perception and Production and Research Methods aimed at undergraduate and taught graduate students. The position would also entail marking of coursework and exams, coordination and administration of Practical Phonetics exams, coordination and support of Peer Assisted Learning Scheme, teaching administration and support for the supervision of undergraduate projects. The post holder may be asked to carry out other specific tasks and duties as required by the Programme Director or the Head of Department, and will contribute to the overall intellectual life of the department.

This post will start as soon as possible after 25 September 2017 and is funded for 9 months in the first instance.

The successful candidates will hold a first degree or Masters in Speech Sciences, Phonetics or other relevant specialisation, and have teaching experience at undergraduate and/or Masters level. It is essential that the successful candidate has a well-rounded training in practical phonetics, laboratory skills in speech acoustics, and a good knowledge of the phonetics and speech sciences literatures.
