A postdoctoral research position is available to work on a newly funded ERC project to Konrad Lohse (Institute of Evolutionary Biology, University of Edinburgh, UK) 'ModelGenomLand - Modelling the genomic landscapes of speciation and selection'. I am looking for an enthusiastic and motivated postdoc interested in population genomic inference and speciation.
The focus of the project is twofold:
The postdoc will collaborate with Lepbase (http://lepbase.org/) and several other Project Partners in the UK and abroad. Within the project, there is also scope to develop independent lines of research with a view to establishment as an independent investigator. The grant includes substantial funds for computing, sequencing, and to attend international conferences. The position is for 3 years from 1st January 2018 and can be extended for a further 2 years based on performance.
Applicants should have a strong interest in population genetic theory and statistical inference, a PhD in a relevant subject area (population genetics, statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative field) and a strong track record of independent and creative thinking.
Salary range: £32,548 - £38,833
