The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £33,518 to £39,992 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be fixed term contract for 2 years.

This post is embedded in the Centre for Inflammation Biology and Cancer Immunobiology (CIBCI) & Peter Gorer Department of Immunobiology, based at Guy’s campus and within the Antigens and Immunity Modulation group headed by Dr. Michele Mishto.

The applicant must hold a PhD in Cell or Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related subject and hold excellent knowledge and understanding of cell biology, molecular immunology, antigen presentation, T and B cell biology.  They must also have experience of mammalian cell culture, and DNA transfection and/or viral vector transduction.

The Scientist will use cellular, biochemical and analytical approaches to identify and characterize spliced epitopes presented onto MHC complexes and their generation pathway. These peptides have utility as potential targets for immunotherapies against cancer, infections, and autoimmune diseases. The Scientist will further use this knowledge to generate T cells reactive against these peptides, and undertake full characterization. 

The selection process will include competency based questions, a presentation, an assessment and a panel interview.
