The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) have appointed a Heritage Priority Area Leadership Fellow to act as an ambassador for the development of the intellectual agenda for the research field, engaging with communities across disciplinary boundaries and promoting collaboration within academia and beyond.

We are now seeking to appoint an Executive Assistant to support the AHRC Heritage Priority Area Leadership Fellow, Professor Rodney Harrison, and play a key role in the running and administration of associated research grants, projects, events and activities. A significant aspect of the role involves event planning, coordination and management, including academic conferences, symposia, workshops and other similar activities. Managing busy diaries, coordinating meetings, leading on projects and supporting team colleagues are amongst the primary aspects of the post. The post also has significant responsibilities in relation to communications and media support, updating websites, supporting aspects of social media communications and providing support for the Heritage Priority Area Leadership Fellow in print, online and broadcast media responsibilities.

The post is funded until 31 December 2019 in the first instance.

The successful candidate will be educated to A-Level or have equivalent work experience. They will have the ability to manage a busy and complex electronic diary and to service meetings, including the preparation of agenda and minute taking. They will also have experience working in a senior PA or administrative role within higher education or a research organisation. Experience of organising, managing and coordinating events is essential.
