This post offers an exciting opportunity to lead the strategic development of the operations and user services team, ensuring the Library’s performance is consistently excellent and commensurate with the strategic objectives of Lancaster University. You will shape our response to the rapidly evolving ecosystem of information resources and collections, ensuring that we offer high quality, innovative and accessible services which meet the needs of an increasingly global and mobile university community efficiently and effectively.
You will also be a member of the Library Leadership Team responsible for directing, developing and overseeing Library strategy, policy and planning, ensuring alignment with Lancaster University’s strategy to become an institution that is globally significant.
You will be an experienced, flexible and enterprising manager, professionally qualified (or with demonstrable equivalent experience) and with excellent team work, interpersonal and technical skills. You will have proven senior management and leadership experience and demonstrable success in a service orientated organisation, including evidence of effective decision-making and successful management of change in an area of work relevant to the current post.
You will demonstrate sound knowledge of developments in academic publishing, and an understanding of relevant IT systems, e-resource management and procurement. You will have proven ability to lead, manage and enhance the performance of a team of professional staff, including the development and deployment of effective KPIs to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.
