The School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences has a long and proud history of research and teaching into health and biomedical sciences, with access to state of the art facilitates, our researchers are developing advanced therapeutics designing targeted delivery systems to obtain the maximum benefit from our medicines and implementing strategies to ensure and improve the safety and efficacy of medication, in support of improved health outcomes.
The Head of School RoleThe Head of School is a key leadership position responsible for the academic leadership and management of the School, driving the strategic vision of academic offerings, research profile and service to students, and will be a pivotal link between industry, professions, employers and the community.
The opening of the new Health Innovation Building in 2018, adjacent to the new Royal Adelaide Hospital and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute, will provide an environment for collaboration, innovation and community engagement, leading to new health research, teaching and community engagement opportunities.
Skills & ExperienceWith an outstanding record of achievement in the pharmaceutical and medical sciences industry, preferably in an area of relevance to cancer therapy, the candidate for the position is expected to drive academic and research innovation, enhance industry and community engagement initiatives, enrich services to students and develop an enterprising culture. The academic will be a strategic and visionary leader with accomplishment in strengthening curriculum and research outcomes within an increasingly competitive international higher education environment.
