We are seeking an able HR Advisor to work with our HR team but embedded within the University Computing Services department. This is a key new appointment to develop our IT recruitment practice and capability in line with the University Workforce Strategy. The postholder will provide recruitment advice, support and interventions to achieve the planned staffing levels of the Computing Services team at a critical point in their development. This is a great opportunity to play a key a key role in the development of a department in a high intensity role on a part time basis, working closely with the senior management team of Computing Services.

To become a trusted HR partner at a time of change in the higher education sector, you will need to be credible, positive and proactive, with the skills and track record to demonstrate you can successfully recruit in competitive and fast paced markets, building effective relationships with senior managers, understanding their business and identifying and providing the critical HR interventions to enable them to achieve their objectives particularly in relation to improving the recruitment and retention of staff, their effectiveness, efficiency and people management practice.

You should be at least part CIPD qualified and have a sound working knowledge of current employment legislation.

Previous experience of working in a large and unionised complex organisation would be an advantage.

This post is part time (29.2 hours per week/0.8FTE), which can be worked flexibly by prior agreement.
