All Saints is seeing phenomenal growth, to become one of the Church of England’s largest providers of theological education. All Saints’ calling is to train women and men for lay and ordained ministries in the Church of England. We are looking for an AAT qualified account technician to be our new Finance Officer (Bursar) as part of the Support Team. This essential post will ensure that the Principal and Trustees have the information they need to ensure that All Saints’ work continues to be well-resourced. The Bursar will ensure that all financial and non-academic administration is delivered accurately, effectively, and efficiently to support the company and its staff in delivering our educational programmes.

Place of Work
All Saints’ offices, on the Warrington Campus of the University of Chester. Occasional meetings with partners mainly in the North-West and the East Midlands will be required.
The Role
- Manage the financial and non-academic administration of the company in line with legal, accounting, company and charity regulations to enable All Saints’ to fulfil its mission
- Support the Principal and Trustees by providing advice and reports for budgeting, financial management and annual accounting and reporting
- Ensure the highest standards of probity in All Saints’ handling of money and resources
- Collaborate with the Support Team to ensure the smooth running of All Saints
- Other duties as required from time to time to enable All Saints to fulfil its mission.
Financial Planning and Monitoring
- Advise the Principal and Trustees on financial policies and procedures, and on managing potential financial risks
- Prepare financial appraisals, forecasts and cash flow projections, analyses of costs and statistical records
- Prepare annual budget estimates in consultation with the Principal and Finance Committee
- Monitor income and expenditure and report to the Finance Committee and Trustees
- Keep the accounts and work with the auditors on the Annual Report and Accounts, SOFA and balance sheets in accordance with the charities SORP
Day to Day Financial Management
- Ensure transparency and probity in handling cash, paying invoices, expense claims, making payments, grants, etc
- Purchase goods and services as authorised, ensuring that the company has adequate insurance and that appropriate licenses are in place
- Liaise with the company’s payroll provider and ensure the payment of salaries, PAYE, NICs and compliance with regulations for benefits in kind
- Liaise with the company’s pension scheme provider, ensuring that all payments and paperwork are up-to-date
- Advise the Principal on bursary awards
- Involvement in the marketing and development of the company
