Carpentry, Joinery and Manufacturing Trainer Assessor. Construction. Full time (37 hours). Term Time only (40 weeks). Permanent position.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Leicester College to appoint a Trainer Assessor in the Carpentry, Joinery and Manufacturing section. The post holder will deliver and conduct training and assessment in College to provide learners with a wide range of skills and knowledge relevant to their main programme of study.  The successful applicant will work as part of a team to ensure success for learners and should be able to demonstrate a broad range of post qualifying relevant, practical experience. Having knowledge and understanding of IV and QA practices would be beneficial.

Main responsibilities of the role include delivering practical training and managing assessments in line with awarding organisation guidelines.  The learners you will be responsible for will be drawn from full time, school provision, apprentice and adult evening groups.  Post holders are required to undertake preparation as required in order to ensure the delivery of high quality practical learning and assessments to all individuals.

Other duties may include; undertaking planned and reactive maintenance including commissioning and de-commissioning of assessment area as well as Health and Safety responsibilities commensurate with the post and procurement of goods and services in-line with the area's requirements. The role requires someone who can work flexibly and work effectively as part of a team to deliver high quality learning experiences.

You will hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in vocational area, or equivalent. You will also be educated to Level 2 minimum in maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent). Previous experience of working in a training environment or of working with young people is desirable but not essential as support is available for someone who can demonstrate commitment to developing others.
