The Careers GroupThe Careers Group within the University of London is an expertise-led, collaborative membership organisation, set up to serve predominantly, but not exclusively, the member institutions of the University of London. The Group HQ is at Senate House and contains the Director's office and a small central team which supports the institutional services by coordinating recruitment and resourcing, providing training and professional development, supporting research and evidence-based practice, overseeing the creation and curation of shared resources, and undertaking special projects on behalf of member services and the Group as a whole.

About the roleThis innovative and exciting role will be at the heart of the delivery of the new employability-led quality assurance process which King’s College London have created to embed employability in the academic curriculum. This new programme approval process will be supported by significant input from Careers & Employability, which will be focused through this role. The role purpose is:

  • To take a lead role in working with programme teams to embed employability throughout the curriculum of new programmes and modules in line with the College’s new Education Strategy.
  • To lead discussions with faculties about embedding employability, facilitate embedding employability workshops with programme teams and provide advice and guidance on writing employability-led learning outcomes.
  • To maintain and grow a new Employability Toolkit resource to support and enable academic colleagues in the embedding of employability.

In applying for this role, you are applying to join The Careers Group as a Careers Consultant. If you are successful in that preliminary process, you will join the main pool of Careers Consultants at The Careers Group, and will then go on to be interviewed for this allocation to become the Embedding Employability Consultant at King’s College London. The position of Embedding Employability Consultant is a 12 month position at King’s College London, after which time you will return to the main pool of Careers Consultants for a subsequent allocation to a College within The Careers Group.

While The Careers Group generally accepts applications on a part time or job share basis, please note that the Embedding Employability Consultant role requires candidates to be able to work full time.
