We are seeking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to be responsible for the management and coordination of the financial, logistical and administrative elements of the EBOVAC project. The post holder will be an integral part of the management team supporting the implementation of a large scale Phase III trial to assess the safety and immunogenicity of a novel prime boost prophylactic vaccine regimen against Ebola Virus Disease. The vaccine has been developed by Janssen Vaccines and Prevention B.V. and the trial is funded by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI, a partnership between the EU and the European pharmaceutical industry).

The post-holder will act as a central point of contact for all financial and administrative aspects of the project, maintaining liaison with partner institutions overseas and other consortium members. The post will require significant travel to UK, Europe and Africa to liaise with and support the LSHTM project management team and clinical trial partners, and to attend meetings with the sponsor as necessary. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Senior Project Manager in the management of the overall budget, monitoring local project budgets and resources.
  • Managing sub-contractor reporting processes and other administrative requirements.
  • Assisting with project co-ordination and logistics across sites both remotely and in-country.
  • Preparing financial reports and budget forecasts.
  • Servicing EBOVAC committees.
  • Organising and facilitating meetings.
  • Assisting with communications.
  • Assisting with all HR processes for new and current members of the EBOVAC team.

The post is full-time, available immediately until 30 November 2019. Salary is on the Professional Support Pathway Scale Grade 6 with a starting salary in the range of £38,533 to £43,759 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
