Do you have experience in a technical, desktop support environment with experience of working in a Moodle Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)?

Are you looking for a role that allows you to utilise your skills in technology and problem solving in a Higher Education environment?

As an IT Desktop Support Technician you will be responsible for providing a broad range of technical support assistance for staff and students of a leading higher education college in Gants Hill, Ilford, Essex. You will deliver consistent, excellent customer service and communicate to the college client-base of staff and students. You will need a good understanding of the Windows operating system, Server 2012 (Windows v7 onwards) and Microsoft Office Suite (2013 onwards). A general knowledge of TCP/IP networking and wireless connectivity plus knowledge and experience of a Moodle VLE (or similar technologies) and fibre optics and Cisco routers.

Your role will require you to provide IT support within a Microsoft technology environment including: Desktop Support and Troubleshooting (PCs and Laptops), Various mobile platforms, physical office/desk moves; new equipment installation and configuration. You will also be assisting in writing and maintaining up-to-date documentation, including technical support procedures; schedules and knowledge base. Your role will also require you to support users of the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment.

Reporting to a senior manager you will be working as a member of a team, and work flexibly to provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line technical support. Knowledge of Incident, Problem, Service Level and Knowledge management processes are key. 

You will need to demonstrate significant relevant experience and show good communication and analytical fault finding skills, together with an overall understanding of IT service provision within an education environment.
