Salary pro rata £50,765 to £56,291. The role is a permanent full-time position. It offers an excellent working environment and benefits package including 38 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.

The Organisation

Cardiff University Students’ Union (CUSU) has a vision of working with every Cardiff student to enhance their university experience. As a student-led, independent part of the university, CUSU represents students and provides a diverse and inclusive range of activities and services that enrich student life. The Job

A rewarding and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Strategist to lead the development and management of the Union's diverse marketing and communication initiatives and enhance the Union's identity and communications capability. Key responsibilities will include creating and leading an effective response to the impact of the Centre for Student Life, improving student engagement and increasing commercial performance in advertising, retail and on-line sales whilst driving an internal and external communications strategy that positively affects employees’ and customers’ understanding, engagement and commitment. As a senior member of the Strategy Management Team, this post will also shape the overall future of the Cardiff University Students’ Union, inputting into all aspects of the organisation.

The Person             

You will hold a degree level qualification in media and communication, marketing, public relations, journalism or a business related field, and ideally hold a post-graduate management or communications qualification. You will be able to evidence high levels of knowledge, competence and achievement relevant to a communications role in a commercial environment and have significant experience of successful leadership and management.  You will also be expected to have knowledge of the University system and student needs.
