We are looking for a highly experienced professional to lead on our stakeholder and communications projects in support of the University’s regional activities. You will be based in Corporate Communications and be part of a team of highly experienced specialists working in press relations, PR, staff and student communications and social media. You will work closely with colleagues across the University and will support the public consultation essential to the development of the University’s Framework Masterplan for the Canterbury campus. This post is offered on a fixed term period of 12 months and part-time, namely 0.8fte or 28 hours per week. The role is based at both our Canterbury and Medway campuses.

As Stakeholder Communications and Engagement Officer, you will: • Run a suite of print and digital campaigns, webpages, email newsletters, print publications and social media channels, aimed at both internal and external stakeholders. • Work with institutional partners to help promote the economic, social and cultural impact of the institution in support of the University’s regional agenda, increasing engagement with local councillors, residents, partners and others. • Demonstrate University pride in the achievements of our staff and students and use their stories to promote understanding of the University. To succeed in this role, you will have: • A 2:1 degree or equivalent and a professional qualification in PR or marketing (CIPR/CIM or equivalent) or substantial and demonstrable PR or marketing experience. • Demonstrable experience of handling multiple projects, multi-channel promotional campaigns, reporting on statistical data, prioritising workloads and successfully achieving outcomes within specified deadlines and budgets. • Relevant communications experience including development of a wide range of communications for diverse audiences.

Corporate Communications seeks to build and protect the institution’s reputation at a regional, national and international level. The department is a team of professionals, with the Director reporting to the Vice-Chancellor. The team works in collaboration with colleagues across the institution and engages with a wide range of stakeholders including the media, national agencies, staff, students and the local community. Departmental activities include press relations, reputation management, brand guidance, staff and student communications, publications, stakeholder engagement, digital and social media activities. and corporate marketing campaigns. The department leads on the institution’s crisis communications response.
