ABOUT THE ROLE

Metalbilt, a division of RCR Infrastructure (NZ), has a longstanding reputation as a supplier and installer of quality commercial roller shutter doors. We currently have a vacancy for a full-time Door Technician to join our team in Christchurch.

What’s expected of you?

You won’t be afraid to get their hands dirty as it is a hands on role. You will carry out day to day field work including the installation of roller shutter doors and other systems, and carrying out service and maintenance on these products. You will also be involved in the manufacturing of steel roller shutters in our modern Christchurch factory so you will have a good level of day to day variation.


DUTIES

  • Install, service and maintain a variety of roller shutter doors and grilles
  • Diagnose and reports faults of electronic and electrical components of these systems
  • Attend to repairs of mechanical issues pertaining to the doors
  • Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent mechanical skills with experience using a variety of hand & power tools including welding equipment.
  • A good understanding of safe work practises, and the ability to maintain a safe work environment at all times
  • A team player with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Demonstrated experience in the commercial and industrial environment
  • Current clean NZ drivers licence
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service and time management skills
  • Experience installing various roller shutter doors and grilles in New Zealand is desirable, but not essential
  • To provide our customers with the best service, this position will be part of a call out roster on a rotational basis.

Employment will be subject to a satisfactory pre-employment health assessment which will include alcohol and drug tests.
