The opportunity 

The Employsure Claims Team provides timely, accurate and commercial advice to small to medium sized businesses from every industry and every corner of New Zealand. 
  
As an Employment Relations Claims Adviser, you will be providing advice to small and medium-sized business owners on unjustified dismissal, underpayments, discrimination and bullying and harassment claims. You will also represent clients at mediations and appear in the Employment Relations Authority where required. Your ability to manage clients' expectations through difficult times will be paramount and your organisation and prioritisation skills are a must in the successful delivery of the world class service that we offer.
  
This role will be joining the Claims team, you will take part in what we consider to be the best ongoing employment relations development program in New Zealand. You will constantly be learning and developing within your role, with our overall people goal at Employsure being to make our employees Better. Key accountabilities.

• Reviewing employment-related claims including unjustified dismissal and corresponding with relevant parties
• Drafting responses to claims for the Employment Relations Authority
• Representing clients at mediations
• Reviewing advice given to Employsure clients by the advice team and draft claims notifications to determine insurance coverage of those claims
• Negotiating settlements and drafting appropriate terms of settlement

The right person will have:

• qualifications in law, industrial relations or law practice
• litigation/Workplace Relations experience highly regarded
• experience in dealing with employment-related claims, drafting documentation and representing clients at mediation
• passion for employment law
• excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise 
• professional phone manner
• ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure
