The Company
We are currently seeking Chefs to work on a casual / on call basis for various Aged Care facilities across Wellington. Our client is one of New Zealands leading providers of catering, accommodation and facility management services across industries such as healthcare, education and corporate sectors.
Please note applicants MUST be able to provide a Police Check or be willing to undergo a check.
The Position
Working to a set menu and schedule, your responsibilities will include:
- Prepping breakfast, lunch and dinner meals following a set rotating menu
- Tailor meals in line with dietary requirements
- Supervision of kitchen and staff for the dinner service
- Ensure meals are up to presentation standards
- Work to a fast pace and ensure meals are sent out in a timely manner
- Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy and stock is replenished
- May be required to step in and wash dishes and clean floors
- Comply to food safety hygiene and food handling procedures
The Successful Applicant
To be considered for this opportunity you must meet the following criteria:
- Certificate in Commercial Cookery
- Previous experience within the Aged Care, Health or Hospital industry
- Experience within Aged Care food service or working with vulnerable persons
- First Aid Certificate is perforable
- Hold or have the ability to obtain a Police Clearance
- Hold a current Drivers Licence perforable
- Knowledge and compliance of food safety and handling standards
- Excellent customer service
- Strong communication skills to lead a team
- Ability to work at a fast pace if required
- Ability to work as part of a team
