A dynamic opportunity for a Chef wanting to take on the challenge of a premium restaurant located in Christchurch CBD. 

The Square Restaurant & Bar at Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square. Located in the heart of the city. Featuring 154 guest room with in-room dining, a dedicated conference floor equipped with 6 conference rooms, 120 seat restaurant & bar and fitness centre is recruiting for a driven and inspired Executive Chef who wants to be part of an exciting new era for the hotel in upcoming Christchurch.

The outlets have unlimited potential for the right candidate. The role will be responsible for leading creativity in the kitchen brigade including Restaurant, Bar, 6 Conference Spaces and Room Service. Working alongside General Manager, and reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage you will work to elevate the hotel to a new 5-star level in dining concept, cuisine and service.

 

MISSION

Responsibility for deliverables, productivity, hygiene, food cost, menu design, menu engineering, nutrition, workplace safety, quality control. To execute the culinary vision of Hotel through their own creativity and ideas.

The candidate will need to be passionate about creativity when designing conference menus and concepts. Being involved in room service menu design and personal in-room bar menus.  Work with a vision of the future; the planning of events and activation in advance and to a timeline to ensure full success.

 

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

•Must pride themselves on attention to detail and upholding standards.

•PASSION for delivering unique out of the box culinary experiences to guests

•Previous experience leading a kitchen brigade, within the A La Carte and conferencing

•Menu planning and budgeting.

•Recruitment, rostering training & performance management.

•Ordering and stock control.

•Familiar to food control plan.

•Exceptional organizational and guest service delivery skills

•Ability to work well in a busy environment, while maintaining high standards.

•Ability to 'think outside the square', multi-task, delegate and be well organized will be the key to success in this busy hands on role.
