Job tasks and responsibilities

Ensuring that all local and Government licenses are followed,
Taking responsibility for menu planning,
Responsible for assessing food and labour costs
Ensuring that food costs are kept within budget
Ensuring that all food prepared meets management expectations of quality
Demonstrating to other staff procedures and techniques that will be required to assure quality
Encouraging frank and open communication between staff and management
Ensuring that the kitchen is kept clean at all times
Ordering stock in consultation with Management
Monitoring Health & Safety requirements within the restaurant
Ensuring that all staff comply with Health and Safety regulations
Performance of any other duties as required by Management

Skills and experience

Two years experience as Cook (chef) (preferably Indian cuisine)
