About the business and the role
Ampersand Eatery is a collaborative space between Executive Chef Mikey Newlands, Wine Sommelier and Service Professional Amanda Rogers, and Coffee Roasting Master Andrew Smart. We serve delicious dishes throughout the day and night, offer a thoughtful beverage programme and show off specialty brew methods of freshly roasted Espresso Workshop Coffee daily.
We have been open now for over a year and have built a strong Team; now we are on the search for a Senior Shift Manager/Assistant Duty Manager to be a part of our growth.
The role is to assist in managing our Eatery during all services and ensure a high quality standard is being met. The role is supported by a small group of Shift Managers so a great sense of passionate team work is required.
Job tasks and responsibilities
This role will begin with ensuring you are trained well in all aspects of Service the Ampersand way. Duties will then include;
- supporting and managing the FOH team throughout all services.
- assisting the Eatery Manager with "behind the scenes" tasks.
- liaising with the Kitchen and Wait Staff to ensure our quality standards of service are upheld.
- serving guests with the upmost quality in mind, and ensuring customer satisfaction is a priority at all times.
- upholding team morale in the Eatery
Skills and experience
- The successful candidate will have at least 2 years experience in a Senior Waiter role; and/or 1 year in a relevant Supervisory or Management role.
- You must be confident and well spoken in English.
- Initiative, drive, common sense and having an understanding of how a determined Kitchen works are definitely qualities we are looking for - someone to jump on board with our ideals and ethos that is Ampersand Eatery.
- Ideally should have a current LCQ and GMC
- We require a Permanent or NZ Resident
