Our Hutt South Community Mental Health & Addictions Service have a vacancy for a mental health professional, passionate about participating in and contributing to peoples mental health recovery journey, not afraid of hard work, well organised and keen to be part of a very dedicated group of professionals.
We have a vacancy for a Registered Health Professional (mental health nurse, social worker, OT or psychologist) with excellent clinical skills, have experience, working in the community environment and have a good understanding of the Mental Health and Addiction Services, NGO and Primary Health Organisation. You will be working with an experienced team who strive to provide high quality care to consumers, family/whānau that require access to mental health services. The role includes:
- Triaging, screening and assessing all referrals to the Community Mental Health and Addiction Services from PHO, NGO, families/Whanau, and individual self-referrals
- Undertaking phone triage, initial assessments and comprehensive Psych assessments
- Facilitating access to treatment within the community teams or re-refering for treatment to Primary health and NGO as appropriate
- Screening and addresses safety concerns including mental health and addiction risk issues; liaison immediately with CRS, Police, Oranga Tamariki, Domestic Violence shelter provider
- Responding to inquiries from GPs or others about service provision and general information
To apply for this role you must be legally eligible to work in NZ, have:
- Current Professional registration and a practising certificate
- Experience working from a strengths perspective.
- Demonstrated experience in working with people to identify goals and actions required to achieve this
- Demonstrated competence in communicating with a wide range of people, leading meetings and documenting outcomes and plans
- A Mental Health Post Graduate certificate
- Full Drivers Licence
