Our Client is looking for a competent HCA or Rehabilitation Assistant on a temporary part time basis to work at their Albany or Papatoetoe branches.

You would be assisting to provide rehabilitation and support for their clients with brain injuries in a Day Service setting.  You will support people with their learning skills, facilitate groups and helping with activities such as computer use, cooking, physical activities, feeding and a little personal care.

Hours:  8.30am to 3pm-3.30pm Monday to Friday

Assignment Term: July to October

Skills/Competencies:

• National Certificate in Community Support Services NZQA Level 3 or working towards achieving it.
• OR Healthcare Assistant NZQA Level 3 (minimum)
• Excellent grasp of the English language
• Proven ability to communicate professionally with peers, health providers and funders
• Competent with MS Suite of Programmes
• Excellent Time Management & Group Facilitation Skills
• Current First Aid Certificate
• No Police Record – recently vetted
• Full Driver’s Licence preferred but not essential (ability to drive manual vehicles)

Key Responsibilities/Tasks:

• Creates and maintains a safe environment physically, emotionally and culturally
• Confidently assist with facilitation of small Groups
• Manage Client Programmes effectively
• Accurate use of intranet to ensure clients goals and needs are met
• Assisting with gathering and recording of Client information
• Driving to client-based activities or workshop pick ups
• General cleaning of facilities
