Continuing (i.e. permanent) positions:

  • Over 2s (32.5 hours per week) - 10am to 5:30pm, Mon - Friday
  • Under 2s (24 hours per week) - 7:15am to 3:45pm (Mon, Tue, Fri)
  • Maternity cover (fixed-term), starting September 2018 (37.5 hours per week) - as rostered

What You Will Do

The Early Childhood Learning Centre at the University of Canterbury provides high quality education and care in a safe, supportive and enriching environment for young children.

We are currently seeking motivated and inspiring people to join our team. You may have related qualifications, and will flourish in an environment created to encourage learning and growing whilst building meaningful and trusting relationships with children, whānau and the team. You will contribute to the success of the team through a passion for working with young children, ethical practice, team work and a desire for high quality work outcomes.

Who You Are

We are currently seeking graduating or new graduate ECE teachers to join the Early Childhood Learning Centre. The ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in multi-cultural settings
  • Some familiarity of Te Whāriki
  • Advantage to be able to use te reo Māori
  • Experience using learning stories as assessment tools and planning (advantage)
