SKOPE Industries have positioned themselves as a commercial refrigeration market leader by building on their proven history and continually developing new and innovative design solutions to meet the increasing demands of today’s commercial refrigeration needs. The facility in Christchurch, New Zealand is one of the largest design and innovation centres of its kind in Australasia.
  
We are looking for a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join our R&D team in a varied and interesting role.  You will be responsible for delivering multi-disciplinary design solutions that complement and enhance SKOPE’s product range. Technical disciplines may include a blend of: electrical, mechanical, software, refrigeration, controls, and communications engineering. You will have to work within a specified budget, to a schedule and provide support to areas where your technical expertise is required.
  
We are looking for someone is who is organised, and self-directing.  People that apply for this position must understand and appreciate project management, take responsibility for every facet of their work and their group’s, and be able to work on a product design from start to finish.

Essential Requirements

• Degree or equivalent in mechatronics
• 8 years of industry experience in mechanical/mechatronic design
• Planning and implementation skills
• Ability to manage a portfolio of projects
• Knowledge in consumer-product insights and product research
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence key stakeholders up to Executive level
• Ability to adapt fast and self-develop
• Demonstrable capability for understanding manufacturing requirements
• Strong CAD skills
