My client an established medium sized Structural consultancy based in the South Island are Engineering experts with a wealth of expertise in the design of timber, concrete and steel construction. Due to an increasing demand for their services in Auckland they now have a local presence and are offering a unique opportunity for an ambitious, client facing Structural Engineer. With a successful, proven team of around 30 staff nationally they are well positioned to continue recent strategic growth into their Auckland office.
The Role:
Reporting into a company Director your main responsibilities will be:
- Undertake and lead the structural design and construction phase of medium to large scale projects – currently low to medium rise Apartment Blocks but commercial projects in the pipeline.
- Work within agreed time-frames, project specifications and set budgets.
- Liaise with clients, architects, consultant team, territorial authorities and contractors.
- Prepare engineering reports, contract documentation and technical consents.
- Scope to grow a team around you over time, supported by South Island offices.
The position is well suited to an independent Engineer, with an entrepreneurial bent who is comfortable in a client facing, project leadership role. Business Development experience will not be required but you must still be hands-on technically.
Your Skills:
- Tertiary qualified Civil or Structural Engineer
- 4-5 years minimum NZ based consultancy experience up to a Senior level
- Structural Engineering design and analysis experience in multi-storey residential and commercial structures
- Professional understanding of New Zealand Building/Structural codes
- Proficiency with a range of Structural software
- Demonstrable successful track record of delivering on demanding client expectations.
