We are Globex; a specialist mechanical design and new product development consultancy based in the heart of Auckland and we are growing. Sometimes we are taking on turnkey work for start-up clients, other times working behind the scenes for companies with amazing products that need our specialist expertise.

To meet the needs of our clients we need to add real engineering talent with a desire to be great engineers to our team. Have you out grown your role? Your company? The work we do is the kind of thing you probably thought you would do when you trained as an engineer – not the monotonous repackaging of the same tired product most companies call engineering.

Your day might include:

• Undertaking mechanical engineering design, from using first principles through to detailed design for manufacture

• 3D modelling; we use Solidworks and we expect you to be able to too

• Prototyping; we have in house facilities to build everything from mock-ups to fully functioning products

• Product testing using our lab facilities

• Engineering documentation e.g. test reports and design specifications

What we are looking for:

• A Mechanical Engineering degree or similar qualification

• Proven CAD experience

• Industry experience of plastics, particularly injection moulding, processing and tool design

• Proven experience designing products for manufacture

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to use engineering theory

• Knowledge of modern manufacturing processes

• Confidence in your own abilities

• Organised people who self-manage and raise issues when required

• Good communication skills and the ability to integrate into a team

Globex needs people with skills and experience, ideally a minimum of 5 years industry experience. We have a variety of roles available for mid engineers and depending on your experience how you fit into the company will be tailored to the level you are at.
