The Opportunity
As the Assistant Accountant, working amongst an established Accounting team, you will produce financial accounts for multiple retail stores in New Zealand, allowing you to develop your technical skills within a multi-site business.
You will report directly to an experienced Finance Manager with a reputation for developing staff and be able to build strong internal relationships across the organisation, building your personal brand.

The Role
- Production of monthly financial accounts including data analysis for assigned retail operations
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and assistance with annual financial reporting
- Involvement in the development of the annual business and periodic forecasting activities
- Preparation of GST & FBT returns
- Maintenance of daily accounts transactions
- Supporting the wider corporate team with ad-hoc projects as required
Your Profile
- 3 - 4+ years’ experience working as an Assistant Accountant either within a CA or Commercial environment
- Be a strong user of MS Excel and preferably had experience analysing financial information
- Ideally have had some exposure to an ERP system and be able to learn new systems as required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing to build rapport with stakeholders
