The opportunity
This is your chance to work on a major project during the site construction phase on a large state highway one capital project. You’ll work closely with our team of industry experts including geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists. The site work will be full on for 6 months at least and during that time you may be required to work 6 days a week.
A typical week will see you adding value to construction phase of the project including; procurement, investigations, designing ground improvements, foundation or pile design, undertaking risk assessments and delivering detailed technical engineering reports..
In this role you will be empowered to:
- Conduct and manage field data acquisition, site investigations and testing
- Produce calculations, reporting, specifications and drawings to ensure that geotechnical designs provide appropriate solutions.
- Provide quality check and review experience to an appropriate technical standard
- Provide geotechnical expertise to meet project needs.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to junior staff on the project.
We're looking for Engineering NZ CPEng accredited geotechnical engineers with senior level geotechnical experience (minimum of eight years’ experience), ideally in the engineering consulting and contracting industries. Previous experience in Singapore, Australia or Asia Pacific would be useful but not essential. You'll have a strong background in design, and be familiar with industry standard design software. Interactions with NZTA is desirable for these roles and you'll need a strong back ground of managing client relationships.
