We are after an engineering leader, who has a proven track record, of leading a specialist team design team with the production of high-tech and innovative devices (preferably machinery). The company is not involved in high volume production line products; instead they design and manufacture a range of specialised material handling equipment for the Food sectors throughout NZ and global markets.

The role will be a full-time position based in Auckland and reports directly to the Operations Manager. Applicants will have experience in managing the design process for the manufacturing process of a highly technical devices or machinery. You will be well versed with design engineering of all disciplines, ensuring that the designs are meeting the scope and specifications provided.

Other desired attributes are:

A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or similar)
The ability to manage a contract to ensure detailed cost design estimates are adhered to and within the plan
Exposure to food and beverage machinery manufacturing would be highly advantageous
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
Leadership skills to manage a team of highly technical engineers and technicians
Strong understand CAD drawings and designs etc
Excellent English communication skills
